Now this particular desktop style might not be your style, but, with the programs I used to make this you can easily make your own custom style with a unique design of your own. Here is the list of programs needed to do this:

Now once you have these downloaded you’re going to want a nice desktop background, simply google images of things you like till you find one and right click it and click “set as desktop background”. Now start Rainmeter. There are several ways to customize rainmeter to suit your style but I’m only going to focus on the Enigma theme (seen above). When you start out you get a predesigned theme called Enigma, it will have a sidebar, taskbar, clock, and a few other things. To change what shows up your going to want to go to your Start menu, find the Rainmeter folder, and click Rainbrowser. This will open a small browser for finding skins that you like. There is a list called Active (shows you what skins you’re currently using}, and Browse (shows you every skin you have downloaded), start by clicking Browse. Now to add some skins. Scroll through the list of skins available to you; when you find one you like, click it; now a new file has appeared in the small box in the bottom left corner with the name of the skin you can choose, click it. Now alot of things should pop up on your browser, find where it says Load Skin and click it. Your skin should now appear somewhere on the screen, once you’ve found it, click and drag it to where you want it. Do this for all the skins you like.

Configuring Rainmeter

Weather Code

With Rainmeter still runing double click the rainmeter icon in your system tray, this will open a small box with a few icons, find the “Configuration” icon and click it. Another box will appear with a list of things and a few options. Scroll through the list and find where it says “Weather Code” and click on it, now in the text box at the bottom type in your ZIP Code and click “Set”, then click “Save All”, now if you use the weather skins they will show you what the weather is in your area.

Gmail/Gcalender

Again, open the configuration tool. Find all the google related items in the list and type in the appropriate information in the boxes.

TuneUp Utilities

TuneUp utilites has a variety of functions, but for this FAQ I’m only focusing on the visual style adjustments the program can do. Start by opening TuneUp utilities. On the right side there is a option that says “All Functions” click on that to find “Visual Styles” and click on it. Here you can change your BootScreen image, your Logon screen, and your loading screen (the things that usually say “loading windows XP or whichever version of windows your using). Doing this is easy and rather self explainatory, click on the option labeled “Boot screen” and you can change your boot screen, etc etc. To find boot screens, loading screens, and logon screens simply check the TuneUp utilities site.

After messing around with all of these things for about an hour or so you should have a fully customized desktop!
